I love the outdoors and have been shooting a recurve bow for around 40 years now.
I've always shot bear bows. I figure if they were good enough for Mr. Fred Bear, then they are good enough for me. And they are definitely good enough.
I got my first, a Bear minuteman 45lb when I was a kid. I didn't know what I was doing and learned to shoot by studying the pictures in a copy of "The Archer's Bible" I had. I wore that out!
I love hunting and fishing and training gun dogs. Presently I am making my living by guiding and training dogs. I shooting and enjoy archery because I hunt and have never been interested in target archery. That is just me though. My favourite is moving targets and wing shooting with my bows. Grouse, woodcock, geese, ducks, pheasants, and of course deer and turkeys as well as some moose hunting.
Now I am enjoying passing on what I have learned to my kids and others who might care to listen. I hope you enjoy your visit here.

Shooting a self bow
Brad Smith from New Mexico made me this gorgeous Osage selfbow this past year. Not the greatest shooting by any means but it is what it is. The main thing was to shoot this beautiful bow.

Just goofing around. Bored! Technically not my first shot because I had to take a half dozen "blind bale" shots to warm up my shoulder otherwise I wouldn't even get to full draw. First shot on the moving target though.

Dog Training series- old dog new tricks intro
Let me join the chorus and thank you for all you've done
Step 12-14 is the hardest for me when I am tired because I start plucking the string. Fred Bear may not have had perfect form but it was good enough and his style of shooting worked very very well for hunting. I have missed dozens of shot opportunities because I was too slow. I am currently transitioning from gap to instinctive or possible "gapstinctive" to get on target faster. Thanks for the tips! I wish I could shoot like you.
I have a thrower like that and you can stack two clays at once. This slows it down a bit and doubles your chances.
That is beautiful mate! ❤❤Well done!👏👏👏👏👏
Jeff is an incredible Archer
Miss these videos 🖤🖤🖤

Hi Jeff, What happened to you?
Just discovered your videos Jeff. Huge inspiration, very sorry to see you no longer post. I bet you got tons of new tips 7 years later! Hope to see more from you soon and I hope you're doing well. Cheers from a beginner.
Check out who?
I've watched most of jeffs videos, its amazing the talent this man has, he makes it look so easy,
Do you use only a 125 grain field tips? And do you use wood narrows
Miss seeing Jeff on here!
You did not mention that it has the ability to change the deflection with the plate from left to right !
Very helpful. Thank you.
Are you still alive? If so does the montana have a lot of hand shock
I always shoot better after watching one of your lessons. Thanks for sharing some of your personal life. Weight training,ju jutsu and archery and good manners, all things lm interested in. Bear bows too, I have a super grizzly, super Kodiak and a Cheyenne, and use them often.Hoping all is well with you and your's.. regards
A very valuable training method! Thank You Jeff😀
Excellent. Thank you.
I’d really like to hear your take on anchor points. Seems you touch the corner of your mouth with the third finger and I see that does get the arrow closer to your eye. Thanks for all your help. I’m 73 and have been teaching myself to shoot instinctively daily for a year now.
Excellent, thoughtful instruction just like all your other videos. I am most grateful. Thank you.
My super Kodiak is 46# at 28 inches...man you are pulling a powerful bow.❤❤ Beautiful bows. All the best..
Another humble thank you, added to the list. Your impact on traditional archery can't be measured!

This was very helpful!!!!
Great info. Coming back from not shooting for years due to shoulder injury I am still working on how to draw my bow without hurting things and how to be able to shoot a little heavier pound bow. Watching this video I see your daughter with a high elbow not the low elbow you describe.
How accurate is that compared to say a 60” bow?
Such a master
Touch Yer Face Let Er Go
Excellent! The best illustration of using back tension I’ve seen.
